Hold onto your hats Gmail users…Google is rolling out new features that will make our lives a lot easier.
In celebration of their 15th birthday, Google has introduced a bevy of useful tools in Gmail coming our way, one new resource that may save some sleepless nights is called Delay Send. Sounds like a dream right? Now all those middle of the night emails (as admins and executive assistants, who hasn’t been there) can be sent without bugging our co-workers. And for those of you who find yourself emailing across time zones, this can be incredibly useful.
In the past you needed Boomerang to schedule an email in advance, soon you will be able to do so inside the platform through the Send button. Super simple! Compose your email, next to the Send button will be options on when to send, like date and time, then schedule it to be delivered to the recipient’s inbox whenever you’d like and the bonus…they won’t know the difference. For those of us who panic about forgetting to send an email, this tool can really be a lifesaver.
If that wasn’t enough….Google’s got another useful tool for you G Suite users out there. We’re all familiar with Smart Compose in Gmail, word suggestions that are offered as you type your email, now Gmail is adding this same feature to its subject lines. Once you finish writing your email, Google will offer a suggested subject line based on the contents, which you can choose to accept or not by hitting the tab key. What’s even better? Smart Compose will get more personalized and will begin making suggestions based on greetings and phrases you frequently use.
